I woke up to the sound of the front door opening and found Kieran missing. He had covered me up with the blanket, but the moment Xavier saw me on the floor beside the dying fire he swore and stormed up the stairs. Axel smiled apologetically and followed Xavier up. I heard them walk into Domâs room and then Kieran walked into the room. âIâll be back in a bit; it seems something else happened with the pack and Iâm needed upstairs.â I nodded and watched him follow the others upstairs.
I climbed off the floor and wrapped the blanket around myself tightly, before gathering my clothes. Walking silently up the stairs I went into my room but left the door open so I could hear what was being said. I stood close to the door holding on to my blanket like a shield from whatever I might hear. I could feel Kieranâs cum running down my leg but ignored it as Xavier began to speak.
âKiara will be back tomorrow. Clifton attacked again last night, only minor injuries but one of the pups got a concussion after being thrown into a tree. He attacked the Reeds this time and they have younger pups still at home,â Xavier spoke, not worried about who heard.
Axelâs voice was next. âWe need to go back to pack lands, Dom. Clifton is using this as an excuse to raid. I donât want to leave but we need to protect the pack.â
I didnât hear what Kieran said but Domâs reply was absolute, âI can't leave yet.â I heard the frustration in his voice and then just a bit softer I heard, âI canât shift yet.â
Kieran swore and then I heard Axel ask, âWhy not?â
âThereâs still too much damage for me to be able to shift. If I canât shift, I canât protect the pack, they are safer with me here until Iâm fully recovered,â He explained and I cringed at the pain I heard in his voice.
âThen maybe Xavier and I should go back and take care of things for a bit,â Axel spoke up and I frowned at the thought of them leaving even if it was temporary.
Dom agreed and I heard them walk to their own rooms. I walked to the door and watched as they walked out of their rooms and towards the stairs. Axel was first and he bent to press his forehead to mine, âWill you be ok without us, for a few days?â I nodded and he placed a soft kiss on my lips before walking down the stairs. Xavier just looked at me and then walked down the stairs behind Axel without saying a word.
I donât know why but his silence hurt, and I felt tears begin to slide down my cheeks as they walked out the front door. I felt a strong pair of arms wrap around me from behind and then heard Kieranâs voice, âDonât cry, Lady T, they will be back soon, I promise.â
âHe didnât even say goodbye,â I cried as I turned into Kieranâs chest and cried harder.
